Langkawi cable car and Sky Bridge
Probably the most popular sight on Langkawi island is the cable car, also known as the Langkawi Cable Car or Panorama Langkawi. It is the cable car with the steepest angle of ascent in the world, 42°; its length is 2100 meters, the height of the Langkawi cable car is 708 meters, and the ride to the top takes 15 minutes.

How to get to the Langkawi cable car
The cable car is in the western part of Langkawi island. The distance from the town of Kuah is 30 km, or a 45-minute drive. From Pantai Cenang beach it is almost 2 times closer: 18 km, or 27 minutes. The simplest and cheapest way to visit the cable car and the other sights of Langkawi is to rent a scooter or a car.
Langkawi cable car opening hours
The cable car's opening hours as of October 2026, according to the calendar on the official Panorama Langkawi website, are as follows:
On regular days the cable car runs from 9:30 in the morning to 18:00 in the evening
While the cable car is closed, the Sky Bridge (SkyBridge), SkyGlide, and SkyBistro are closed too
On scheduled maintenance days (Weekly Maintenance) — in the October 2026 calendar these are Wednesdays, October 7, 14, and 21 — the Langkawi cable car runs from 12:00 noon to 18:00 in the evening
Langkawi cable car prices
Admission to the cable car in a regular gondola as of October 2026 is from 33 to 85 ringgit depending on age and citizenship; children under 2 ride free. There is no limit on how long you stay (from opening until the cable car closes you can stay up there as long as your heart desires).
You can also buy a fancy VIP Express ticket for 50 ringgit, which lets you get on the lift without waiting in line (though you'll still have to stand in the line for tickets :)
For reference, at the time of our trip the price for Malaysians (passport holders — MyKad) was 30 RM for adults and 22 RM for children.
Langkawi Sky Bridge
Once you have ridden the Langkawi cable car to the top, you will have the chance to walk across a unique structure — the Sky Bridge.
The Sky Bridge, or SkyBridge, is the longest curved suspension bridge in the world! The Sky Bridge is 125 meters long, and it hangs from an 82-meter pylon at a height of 100 meters above the ground.
Admission to the Langkawi Sky Bridge in April 2016 was 5 ringgit for adults and 5 ringgit for children; as of October 2026 it is from 36 ringgit per person. Up to 250 visitors can be on the bridge at the same time.
