Norway from the car window: tunnels, goats, and snow in August
On the morning of August 22, 2024, we were on a ferry from Denmark to Norway. Inside the ferry there are cafés, shops, and even a casino. Norway itself greeted us with rain. In Norway we of course stopped by IKEA too: it is the first country where it opened when it went international.

The next day it poured the whole way, but we still stopped here and there. We only managed to take a walk when it finally stopped.

We didn't make it to many of Norway's famous places: to get to them, for example to Trolltunga, you have to walk for several hours along trails and over mountains, and we have Leia. But driving the roads here with views like these is reason enough to come.
Tunnels and waterfalls
Once we crossed from one shore of a lake to the other through a tunnel right under the water. In one of the tunnels we also came across a roundabout.

And at this waterfall the water falls in steps, so you get a waterfall on top of a waterfall.

As much as you see fit
We drove past fruit tree plantations, and right next to them stood stands with fruit. There are no prices: you put as much as you see fit into the little box.

Once goats caused a traffic jam on the road.

But more often there are sheep wandering everywhere. You have to be very careful with them: they like to throw themselves under cars.

Blueberries, snow, and a bear
On August 28 we picked blueberries.

There are so many views around that it's impossible not to photograph all this beauty.

The same day we saw snow in the mountains, at the end of August.

There is also an installation in the mountains: a little cave was built for it, and inside a bear sleeps on a pile of things from the past. Pavel took this shot; his bear came out better.

Heading back
On August 31 we turned back and left the beautiful roads behind. We wanted to drive even higher along one beautiful road, but it was temporarily closed: they were worried about a landslide.

And on September 1 the traffic jam was caused by cows this time.
